This hope that anchors the Christian life is “stored up for [us] in heaven.” The verb here, with its nuance of “kept in readiness” or “kept safe,” speaks of absolute security. Our secure location is “in heaven”; God (the implied subject) is at this very moment guaranteeing the future for his people—a future banked in heaven.
